Today, we entered the MTC, and began this new journey to serve a mission. It was a record day for the MTC with 153 Senior couples. Lots of gray hair and sensible shoes but incredibly enthusiastic and faithful people who want to serve. We were amazed at how widespread the couples are going across the world. From Mongolia, Nigeria, Malaysia, New Zealand, Russia, Fiji, Italy, Germany, Congo, Argentina, Japan, Puerto Rico and all over the US. There was one couple who brought their disabled son and they were headed to Hawaii... (Someone's got to go there). We are the only couple going to Manchester but three couples are headed to London South. We were told to look for the tender mercies while on our mission and to study the Doctrine of Christ found in 2 Nephi, 3 Nephi and Alma. We were also taught "Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape." We enjoyed having lunch with the Young Elders and Sisters and talked to so many. We have homework each night and we have to get up early each morning. (This will be a stretch for us) Reed was called to be a District Leader and we have no idea what this entails in the coming days. It's been a great day!
