Arrived in Manchester...

After a delay in Salt Lake City and missed connections in Paris, we arrived in Manchester on Friday December 13th in the evening. Brother and Sister McArthur  picked us up along with two elders who played jingle bells on the ukelele and helped load the 8 bags in the car.  We arrived at our new "flat" 20 minutes later where Sister McArthur had homemade soup and bread pudding ready for us. We are experiencing a little jet lag but are hanging in there today.  The McArthur's picked us up this morning and sat in the back seat while Reed drove on the wrong side of the road. At first it was terrifying but as the morning passed, he got better at looking right before turning left and the crazy roundabouts !  We went to a chinese grocery store, to Costco and to the Church where we met Bishop Roberts.  We will attend two Ward Christmas parties tonight and we speak in Sacrament Meeting tomorrow. We learned about all of our assignments and it sounds like we will have a wild ride this next 18 months.  Our flat is interesting and isn't as nice as our first married student apartment in Provo. Some of our adjustments will be : a double bed, no plugs in the bathrooms, tiny refrigerator, no disposal, not to mention the driving. We have already met some wonderful people, cute missionaries and we know we will be very busy.  Keep posted for our adventures. More to come...
