We love these Sister Missionaries. Sister Marenokova (We call her Sister Ukraine) and Sister Lyman from Virgina. They live downstairs from us. They are so faithful and work so hard. They have to budget to make ends meet. Elder Pew leaves change on the table each day (We Americans hate to carry change even if it is worth some dollars) for any of the missionaries to take. They are ALWAYS off doing good and being BOLD! Today I made a big pot of soup and Romney Chocolate Chip Bars and we had several missionaries stop by along with a couple of single adults. We also drove to the Ashton Stake to introduce ourselves to the High Council and Stake Committee. They said we would be asked to speak in the wards in that stake too. We had to go downtown on the bus to the bank today and our Faithful Abbey went with us to show us the way. She is a great tour guide. Tonight was a baptism (There has been a baptism a week for the last several weeks and two upcoming) It was also Institute and we provide food at the church each week. We had pizza delivered and the kids loved it. The Bishop of the YSA ward is really amazing. Bishop Sean Roberts is a dynamic leader and example to the youth. He is the former Stake President and in one day an email "Go-Around" gave us a connection to him. He lived in Bountiful as an exchange student when he was in High School. Lonny Adam's nephew Lenny Goodwin baptized him and his family. They have remained close and Bishop Robert's children will be visiting Utah to stay with Goodwin's children this summer. When Lonny saw our email, he put this altogether and his Nephew also emailed our Bishop. It was such a coincidence. I cannot believe how many connections there are. The world is small....especially in the church. The Manchester and Ashton Stakes will be opening a beautiful new Institute building in February. There is much excitement about this building which includes a chapel and a font. Elder Perry, Elder Holland and local leaders have been instrumental in getting this building here. Elder Perry came to look at property where the local leaders wanted to renovate an old club. He stood back and said that they should demolish the club and build a beautiful new 5 story building in it's place. It is now almost complete. There are so many Chinese and other international students joining the church here. Manchester University is the largest University in the UK and thousands of students will walk by this Beautiful Institute Building each day. It is right next to campus. We are part of a planning team for a week long open house in February. Elder Perry said that thousands will join the church and return to their homelands and spread the Gospel. It seems the future of the church is in these Young Single Adults. We also love Elder Chong and encourage all to look up his YouTube video called...Why won't you be baptized? He is an artist, a musician, a strong missionary ....basically he is brilliant. He's fun to be around.
