I was reminded today of life-long friends. We spent the day at the funeral of my mom's life-long friend, Bettie Hepworth. They shared many memories of the friendship of my mom and Aunt Bettie and my dad and Uncle Grant. The Hepworths were like family to us. It is rare to have a friend that you have kept near and dear since childhood. It was a wonderful reminder to me. We are so lucky to have some wonderful life-long friends. We didn't meet until our days at BYU, but we have all remained close and connected through 35 years of our lives. Richards, Snows and Pews have survived together through school (both BYU and graduate), children, death of parents, marriages of children, grandchildren, jobs, all turning 30,40 and 50 together, and the regular ups and downs of life. No matter what life brings, we have always stayed connected. We have enjoyed our weekend dinners, movies, ball games and traveling together. Doug and Kerry and Greg and Barb are the kind of friends that will be life-long to us. This picture is at one of our Saturday Night dinners and as you can see, it looks like Reed has been translated. I can assure you, he is still with us.
